We are seeking an experienced muralist to create a welcoming, place-based mural for a new mixed-income housing community in Austin's Dove Springs neighborhood.
The mural will greet residents as they enter the community, and be visible to the public on South Pleasant Valley Road.
Mural Specifications
Location: 5901 S Pleasant Valley Road, Austin (community currently in pre-development)
Timeline: Painting in summer 2026, with design collaboration to begin fall/winter 2025
Dimensions: Approximately 20' wide, up to 30' tall
Requirements
Experience working on large-scale murals
Ability to work safely from a construction lift
Proof of liability insurance
Openness to collaborate with a local advisory committee on design concepts, including attending one committee meeting.
Connection to or understanding of the Dove Springs neighborhood (preferred)
Compensation
Artists may submit their proposed fee, which should include design development, attending one local advisory committee meeting, materials, equipment including all-terrain lift., and labor.
